Description:

This print was dedicated to Napoléon III's coronation. Louis-Napoléon, Napoléon I's great-nephew, came to power legally in the elections of 1848. He became emperor in 1852, after a coup d’état in 1851. This print was produced as propaganda, and depicts the French people as overjoyed at having the great-nephew of Napoléon I as their emperor.
