Description:

Portrait of Ibrahim Pasha (1789–1848). As the best General under his father Muhammad 'Ali Pasha, he fought successfully against the Wahhabites, the Ottoman Army and the Greeks. In 1831 he conquered Syria and governed it until 1841. In 1848 he deposed his senile father and was declared Vice King of Egypt by Sultan Abdülmecid I.
