Description:

At the Congress of Vienna (29 September 1814 to 9 June 1815), Austria fully restored its position as one of the great powers in Europe. It renounced the former Austrian territories in the Netherlands and South Germany and regained a number of North Italian possessions. The Kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia, together with smaller North Italian territories like Tuscany, Modena, Piacenza, Parma and Guastalla – which came under control of Habsburg Archdukes – confirmed Austrian predominance in Northern and Central Italy.
