Description:

This mast, made of casted brass, bears an Arabic calligraphic decoration with the inscription "Oh God, Oh Muhammad". It is fixed on a pointed piece of copper with a hole at the bottom to install on a long wooden staff. In religious festivities such as a pilgrimage, various activities were organized. They would normally include festivals and rallies under flags and standards. The heads of flagstaffs were decorated with metallic items usually with Arabic calligraphy and some cosmic signs such as the crescent and the star.
