Description:

Sultan Abdülhamid II founded in 1891 the Yıldız Çini Fabrika-i Hümâyûnu (Yıldız Royal Tile Factory) in the garden of Yıldız Palace in order to revive Turkish tile art and give it a new direction and momentum. Vases, hanging wall plates and many sorts of daily-use wares were produced in the factory, including writing and dinner table utensils, card plates, lidded bowls, pans, aşure (a kind of dessert) trays, sugar bowls, tea and coffee cups. The vase has yellow covers and two handles. There is a landscape of a tree and a house near the water on the vase.
