Description:

Pascal Sébah (1823-1886) was a pioneer photographer who worked in Istanbul. In 1857 he opened his first photography studio, El Chark Societe Photographic, in Istanbul and by 1873 was successful enough to open another studio in Cairo. In 1860 he moved to another studio next to the Russian Embassy in order to work with A. Laroche, who worked in Paris. He continued to work with Laroche until 1873.
