The World's Columbian Exposition or The Chicago World's Fair was a World's Fair held in Chicago in 1893 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' arrival in the New World in 1492. The fair was an influential social and cultural event to which the Ottoman Empire had been invited. It displayed raw materials and agricultural products at the exposition, as well as handicraft products and plant products belonging to the palace revenue. The 1893 Chicago Exhibition was a big success for the Chamber of Commerce. The Head of the Chamber of Commerce, Azaryan Efendi, was assigned to the head of the commission, which was formed in Istanbul for the Chicago Exhibition.
