Description:

This cartoon, which criticised the French invasion of Tunisia, appeared in the satirical magazine L'Epoca on 1–2 August 1881. The French consul in Tunisia, Théodore Roustan, is depicted as the new ruler of Tunisia, under the tile "His Royal Highness Roustan 1st", and holds the ruling bey Sadok Pacha on a leash.
