Musée National du Bardo
Late 18th century
Terracotta
H. 22 cm, Ø 28 cm

This nipple or bottle-shaped vase, with its central ring-shaped handle and turned-up base, resembles a closed coffin when seen from the side. Vases in this shape are very rare, and this particular one, which is decorated with the image of a great yellow and brown bird, was used for bottle-feeding infants.
