The influences of Eastern art in Macedonia were largely expressed in the jewellery of the 19th century through the so-called Levantine Baroque style. This piece preserves evidence of the exceptional diversity of the jewellery. Worn on the apron, it also shows that articles of adornment used to be applied on many different items of clothing. A mangura consists of a string of tiny beads adorned with ornaments. The larger central pendant has been made in the filigree technique and embellished with decorative stones. It is flanked by minor ornaments decorated by perforation.
