Gorni Polog
In the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries, all garments for the entire family were made by women themselves. They used to weave all the fabrics, except for the broadcloth, as well as to cut and sew the clothes, decorate them by embroidery and apply varied ornaments for embellishing. Women also used to knit the socks to match the outfit. These men’s socks belong to the set of traditional men’s costume from the Gorni Polog area. They are knitted from black wool and srma (silver and gold-wrapped threads). They have been additionally decorated with embroidered floral patterns in different colours.
