Description:

A klashenik is a kind of over-garment women used to wear in winter. It is split in the front and made of thick woollen broadcloth called klashna. This piece is long to the hips. It is adorned with red braids along the hems. It is also decorated with embroidery of geometric patterns on the sleeves and at the breasts. Every ethnic area in Macedonia had distinct style of traditional costume, yet all of them show undeniable influence of Oriental art.
