Description:

These small daggers were used by the Ottoman soldiers in Lebanon in the 19th century to quash resistance movements. As the Lebanese resistance had no weapons of their own, the fighters frequently ambushed Ottoman soldiers and took their weapons. This dagger is an example of such weaponry, which was taken by the resistance and used against the Ottomans. The blade is made of steel and has a curved double-edge. The handle is made of wood and painted black, with decorative drawings in gold paint.
