Description:

A gold pin with three gold ¼ rashadi Ottoman coins welded together; at the end of two chains hang ¼ gold rashadi coins (Sultan Rashadi, 1909), each with a heart shape dangling from it. Ottoman coins were used as decorative objects for jewellery. Gold jewellery was usually bought only by the rich, while most people used silver jewellery. Pieces of gold or silver jewellery were given by the groom to the bride as a dowry, thus the choice of a piece of jewellery indicated the financial status of the groom.
