Description:

In 1872, Paul Draneht Bey bought a Villa on the Lago Maggiore (Italy), which he remodelled, mixing oriental and European architectural styles. From this postcard, one can see a tower with an Arabic flavour.
In the interior, there was an “Egyptian hall”, modelled according to the style of an ancient Upper-Egypt temple. The furniture was made by one of the shops in Paris that was making the scenes for the opera Aida.
