1911
The picture shows how, on the occasion of the 1911 international exhibition in Turin the Italian community in Tunisia chose to represent itself by blending elements taken from the Italian and from the Tunisian material culture.
One can read the sign E. & A. Coen, Tunisi, Susa, Sfax. Eugenio and Alfredo Coen were the owners of a furniture factory and of the imposing furniture shop, “Au Palais Arabe”, in downtown Tunis.
