1890
In June 1890, the Sultan of Morocco sent an Ambassador to Italy (Hagi El Maati el Mazamizi), to meet the Italian King and present him with gifts.
The Ambassador was received with the highest honours. He met with the Italian Prime Minister and with the King, who offered him a gala dinner.
In these pictures one can see (from the top left): four captains who escorted Morocco’s Ambassador, his interpreter Lamfaddal Elkabbagi, the Ambassador on a carriage arriving at the King’s palace, Hamed (one of the Ambassador’s servants), Pà Nadan (another servant), and two children travelling with the Ambassador on the hotel’s terrace.
