1878
The structure of an Egyptian home was considered particularly interesting and was rebuilt inside the Trocadero Park. The idea and the execution of the house were supported by the famous French Egyptologist Mariette-Bey, who was responsible for numerous excavations along the Valley of Nile and was the founder of the Cairo Museum. This work differs from the one presented by Mariette at the Exhibition in 1867 and was meant to represent a common living building. One room was dedicated to the opening of the Suez Canal and numerous photos and albums provided documentary evidence of Egyptian fashion, oases and travel memories.
