1878
At the International Exhibition in Paris, 1878, commercial activities typical of the colony were performed in the park next to Trocadero Pavilion, as part of the reconstruction of a hypothetical typical neighbourhood. The making of cork-taps was moved from Europe to Algeria to take advantage from the numerous Algerian forests. Taps were both made by hand and by machines and were brought to Europe from Trocadero.
