Photo by an unknown author showing the archaeologists Ernesto Schiaparelli and Francesco Ballerini on the site of the tomb of the architect Kha, together with workers and the supervisor of the Italian Archaeological Mission to Egypt. The tomb of the architect Kha (TT 8) was discovered untouched in 1906 by Ernesto Schiaparelli inside the necropolis of Deir el-Medina. It was located inside the village of the craftsmen who worked at the royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings. The holder had been "Head of the royal necropolis" and "Superintendent to the works of the royal necropolis" in the middle of the 18th dynasty, during the reigns of Amenhotep II (1428–1397 BC), Thutmose IV (1397–1388 BC) and Amenhotep III (1388–1351 BC). The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities preserves all these goods, with the exception of a lamp, which is in the Egyptian Museum of Cairo, while a copy is on display at the Egyptian Museum in Turin.
