This brooch is part of the contemporary pieces from North Africa collected by Lázara Galdiano. It is important to point out that most of the Spanish collectors and museums not only acquired early Arab pieces of the Middle Ages, but also pieces from the North African or Near Eastern workshops of the mid-19th century or early 20th century, as part of the interest in these countries.
