Description:

This picture shows Bosnian soldiers praying in a room in a barracks in Budapest. The third Bosnian infantry regiment recruited in Tuzla was stationed there. In 1882, the Austro-Hungarian administration of Bosnia-Herzegovina created four Bosnian infantry regiments. Because 50 per cent of the Bosnian population was Muslim, the Austro-Hungarian Army supported the free exercise of the religion amongst its soldiers.
