Description:

This characteristic metal buckle with the coat of arms of Bosnia and Herzegovina was used by all enlisted ranks of the Austro-Hungarian gendarmerie in Bosnia-Herzegovina, which maintained domestic order in these two provinces. The main deployments of the gendarmerie were in the regions of Sarajevo, Travnik, Banja Luka, Bihac, Tuzla, Mostar, Trebinje and Gorazde.
