Description:

After the Tanzimat (reforms), newspapers in Arabic, Persian, Bulgarian, Serbian, Albanian, Kurdish, English, French, Italian and German began appearing in the Ottoman Empire. Some of them were bilingual as Turkish-Greek, Turkish-Armenian and Turkish-Arabic. Hüdavendigar was a provincial newspaper of Bursa and it was first published on 19 February 1869. The same year, starting with the 80th issue, the back page was printed in Armenian. The paper was published twice (Wednesday and Saturday) and then four times a week. It was 50 x 25 cm. Subscription for a year was 100 kuruş, for six months was 50 kuruş and one issue was 20 para (1/2 kuruş). It continued to be published until 1953 under different names.
