In this miniature we see an evening of rafts and fireworks on the Golden Horn. The grand vizier is seated on the Aynalıkavak quayside in the right frame and the sultan on the palace balcony. On the first of the two rafts in this procession, dancers and musicians perform in a garden of blazing cypress tree and Solomon’s seal fireworks. On the second is a revolving fortress stuffed with fireworks that have been set off while the military band at the stern of the raft plays.
