This large basin with a flat base and curved, sloping sides is also called a maajna. The feet of the basin are circular, and the centre is decorated with a highly stylised floral pattern with palms and winged shapes overlapping. The walls are mainly painted with a tawq (collar) motif. This style indicates a symbiosis between Ottoman influences and local traditions. The dominant colours are: yellow, green, brown, and violet. This basin was used to knead dough, roll semolina and as a serving bowl for certain ingredients, and shows traces of both Ottoman and Andalusian influences.
