Description:

This symbolic statue of the French protectorate in Tunisia was located in the centre of the European quarter, between the cathedral and the official residence of the French government, on the Avenue Jules Ferry, today renamed Avenue Habib-Bourguiba. This bronze statue, reaching around three metres in height, is one of the last surviving elements of a monument which had been dedicated to one of the most important thinkers of French imperialism.
