Description:

Violent clashes in the province of Ferrara (Emilia Romagna, Italy) between people who protested against unemployment and the army. The women are in the front line, protecting their comrades from the attacks of the cavalry.
In 1913, an economic crisis hit Italy. Unemployment grew considerably and so did emigration. In 1913, Italian migration abroad reached its peak: 870.000 Italians migrate abroad. Social tensions and conflicts ran high.
