It shows the central nave of the Mosque of Hagia Sophia (Ayasofya Camii), under the main dome, facing the Eastern apse where the altar has been replaced by a mihrab. On the left, in the transept, the pavilion for the sultan's personal prayer. A group of men are sitting on the ground, on carpets that cover the entire surface, listening attentively. This kind of album had great success with 19th century European travellers.
