The School of the Three Doctors
Beirut, Lebanon
1835
The Three Doctors Association represented the Orthodox educational presence in 19th century Lebanon. The school was also known as the 'Grand School' as it was the biggest school in Beirut. It was temporarily closed from 1840 to 1860, and again during the civil war, from 1975 to 1998.
The School of the Three Doctors, pictured here, is located in Downtown Beirut. The inscription above the main entrance bears the school's full name and the date of its foundation (1835).
